In the wake of many recent, violent shootings in America, especially Sandy Hook, President Obama unveiled his administrations new gun control proposals to help make the country a safer place.
Students from Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut were on Good Morning America this morning singing “Over the Rainbow”. The song is available on iTunes with all proceeds going to local Newtown charities.
Many websites went “dark” today in observance of a moment of silence for the Sandy Hook victims in Newtown, Connecticut.
Following the Sandy Hook shootings, Governor Rick Perry of Texas has expressed his support for the affected families and is also allowing the school districts in Texas to determine whether or not their teachers can carry firearms. Click the pic for more details.
After New York Giants’ Victor Cruz learned he was the favorite player of 6 year old Jack Pinto who was killed in the Sandy Hook shooting, Cruz dedicated Sunday’s game to Jack and Cruz visited the parents and Newtown to help in any way that he can.

Over the weekend Cruz learned that he was the favorite player of young Jack, and Cruz wrote Jack’s name on his shoes. Cruz has also reached out to the family and will head to Newton this week as well as find other ways to help.
